Blend 101: History of the Blend

The Blend is Wheaton College's first all gender a cappella group.  In the Fall of 2002, Wheaton students Sam Appleton ('06) Megan Diaz ('04) organized Wheaton's first musical group for men and women.

In the years since, the Blend has built a lasting legacy. Themed and comedic Fall and Spring Jams are a mainstay of the Wheaton semester, and are well attended by students. The group's size has fluctuated but the trademark Blend behavior has remained. We pride ourselves in our humor and shenanigans as well as our musical know-how.

The Blend has released two CD's - Focus (2005) and Under the Bridge (2007). We've also released Live Jam Performances from 2009-2019.

The Blend hosted a 10-Year Anniversary Reunion and released a new studio album, Press to Purée (2012), at the end of October 2012.

The Blend performed at the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A cappella) Northeast Quarterfinals February 2014.
